Poinsettia Fields
2011. Stainless steel, aluminum, polyurethane, 204 x 48 x 6 inches.
Sunset Plaza, West Hollywood, CA.
The small, red petals of this sculpture installation pay tribute to two traditions from West Hollywood.
During the 1920's, 30's and 40's, the well known Mr. Paul Ecke leased many lots in West Hollywood where he grew and developed Poinsettia plants. Our sculpture represents and recalls the vast poinsettia fields of years past.
The second tradition belongs to the Montgomery family that has maintained the flower gardens in the medians of Sunset Boulevard that run through the Sunset Plaza. We have with this composition created a vertical flower garden.
